The Journey

What is this life if full of care

We have no time to stand and stare?

So stand and stare we did a lot,

At each and every garden plot,

Adorned with sculptures large and small.

We studied and admired them all.

We ooh'd and aah'd, took lots of snaps -

Our way of 'owning' them perhaps!

Through woodland, field and country track,

With sun hats and with haversack,

We found our way along the trail -

With map in hand we could not fail.

Each garden venue had such charm

We stood and stared and felt the calm.

Enhanced with music everywhere,

We felt we'd left behind all care.

We watched as craftsmen brought to life

Their skills with spindle, lathe and knife,

With bellows, chisel, brush and jess.

Long hours of toil perfects, I guess.

And last of all the Mystery Play,

A triumph sure in every way.

To us, The Journey was a hit,

We treasured every bit of it!
