Kairos is the third bienniel Bergh Apton Sculpture Trail. The work of a small Norfolk village of some 430 souls, it is motivated by a happy mixture of strong moral and practical support, enthusiasm, hard work and artistic creativity. These things were gifts to the project from the people of this village, its organising team, its gardeners and the sculptors who have come amongst us with their ideas and their skills.
Why Kairos? He was the youngest son of Zeus; the god of opportunity, and of personal time. He tells us to graso an opportunity for it comes but once; and to take the time to enjoy beauty and the provocation of our senses. In coming to Bergh Apton today you have already grasped such an opportunity; we hope that the Trail will provoke your senses and send you away enriched by what yo have seen. This year we have added the sense of sound to those of sight and touch on the Trail, as we sprinkle the gardens with music to delight you.
